CorelDraw is a program for vector graphics design and creation, providing a selection of tools for use in producing authorization art in the form of logos or icons. It offers a general-purpose graphics workspace, as well as specialized tools featuring special effects (such as blinking, waving, spin) which it calls Scenic Effects.
The Corel Drawing Suite (CorelDRAW) includes Corel PHOTO-PAINT.[1] CorelDRAW is a desktop vector graphics editor for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. CorelDRAW was the first program to use native Apple Macintosh fonts on publication, and thus predates the introduction of Type 1 (.ttf) and Type 3 (.otf) font formats, and the FreeType library. After the introduction of these formats, Apple began shipping a version of CorelDRAW with native Type 1 and Type 3 fonts, free of charge.
Introduced in August 1985, CorelDRAW was an immediate success. It was the first serious vector graphics editor available on the Macintosh platform. It was also the first to ship with native Mac OS fonts.
In April 2000 Corel released CorelDRAW X7, and three years later, in March 2003, CorelDRAW X7 Update 2. Soon after, Corel's graphics department unveiled CorelDRAW X8, bringing many changes that were commonly associated with desktop publishing in general. The release of CorelDRAW X8 coincided with the release of Corel PaintShop Pro X3, which was also introduced in March 2003 and was designed to provide a similar user experience for the Macintosh line of graphics editing systems. Corel's X8 and PaintShop Pro X3 represented the first major revisions since X7, and with over 40 enhancements, PaintShop Pro X3 showcased the capabilities of the latest CorelDRAW release. CorelDRAW X7 Update 2, PaintShop Pro 9, and CorelDRAW X8 are available on the Mac OS, Linux and Windows platform. d2c66b5586
