Other productions include The Castle, The Child Buyer, The Grass Harp, and Ivory Tower. Hawaii Luana, a graduate student in Romance languages and literatures at Rice in 1950-51, contributed to the development of the Asian and Asian American Studies concentrations at Rice and in the field itself. She was a major figure in the development of the Buddhist Studies center, was chairwoman of Asian and Asian American Studies at Rice, senior advisor to the Asian American studies journal "Third World Literature," and a founding member of New Asian Studies at Harvard. d2c66b5586
