If you already know how to capture a video on WhatsApp, then there's nothing new. Just upload it to the album and download it from WhatsApp. But WhatsApp now includes a new feature that lets you view videos directly on WhatsApp as well. In case you are at a place where there is access to the internet or your smartphone is not handy, this feature comes to play.
While viewing someone's WhatsApp status, you can tap on the video icon on the right side of the status and you will be taken to the camera immediately to capture a video. When you do that, the video on the screen will start recording. You can also use this feature by tapping on the share button while viewing someone's status. This will enable the video recording.
As you open the video from the WhatsApp status, you will be able to select how you want it to be played. In case you opt for the Wi-Fi network in your device, the video will be streamed over the internet. Apart from your Wi-Fi network, this feature will also work over 3G. If the Wi-Fi network is not available so that you want to play the video over 3G, you can tap on the 3G icon on the top left of the status.
If you opt for this, then the video will be played on your device directly. The quality of the video depends on what you choose as the resolution. The resolution is 720px X 320px, so for 720p, it will be 1280 X 720 pixels.
One thing about this feature is that it will not upload or send the video to any third party. If you are already subscribed to more than one person, then you may have a problem when you tap on the 3G button. This will by default toggle the video between the two accounts.
